Event narrative

Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across most of Grant County through the end of February. Across southeastern portions of Grant County, extreme (D3) drought conditions improved to severe (D2) drought conditions by the end of the month. Across far northwestern Grant County, severe (D2) drought conditions improved to moderate (D1) drought conditions by the end of the month.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved some in February across the area. The greatest improvements occurred over portions of north central and southwestern Nebraska. In these locations, drought severity improved by one category in February. Elsewhere, drought conditions remained un-changed during the month.
