Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across all of Logan County through the end of February. The cooperative observer at Stapleton 5W reported 0.14 inches of precipitation for February. This was 0.77 inches below the normal of 0.91 inches.

The wider storm

Drought conditions improved some in February across the area. The greatest improvements occurred over portions of north central and southwestern Nebraska. In these locations, drought severity improved by one category in February. Elsewhere, drought conditions remained un-changed during the month.
