A Weatherflow mesonet station at Fogland Beach recorded a gust to 63 mph at 1026 AM EST. Another Weatherflow site at Castle Island in Bristol Harbor recorded a gust to 58 mph at 949 AM EST. A PORTS station CPTR1 at Conimicut Light recorded a gust to 54 mph at 1036 AM EST.
Wider weather episode
A strong northwest jet at 850 mb, combined with steep lapse rates, allowed for strong wind gusts across southern New England (no damage reported though) and high winds across the waters.
