A strong gradient across the southern half of the CWA with a leeside trough over eastern Colorado that deepened through the morning and into the afternoon hours. Aided by downsloping component to the wind flow, wind speeds out of the south to southwest gusted up to 50-60 mph into the evening hours ahead of an approaching cold front.
