Snow squall. A band of heavy snowfall extending across portions of East-Central Colorado moved east-northeast across Kit Carson County over a span of an hour and a half. The snow squall created visibility reductions as low as one-quarter mile which mainly impacted travel across I-70. Snow reports ranged from a trace to one inch of snow. Key impacts: visibility reductions, hazardous travel.

Wider weather episode

A north-south oriented snow squall developed off the Palmer divide to extend across portions of East-Central Colorado moving east-northeast to the Kansas border of Yuma, Kit Carson, and Cheyenne counties over a span of up to two hours. The snow squall created visibility reductions ranging as low as one-quarter mile to 100 yards, which mainly impacted travel across I-70, US-40, and US-36. Snow reports ranged from a trace to one inch of snow across the three counties.
