Nome ASOS reported reported multiple hours of heavy snow and gusty winds reducing visibility to quarter mile or less at times. Peak wind gusts were as high as 39 MPH.
Wider weather episode
A deep trough in the Bering Sea moved a series of shortwaves over the West Coast, pushing a cold front across the coast. This induced several inches of snow and gusty, bringing blizzard conditions along the coast.
