The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site at Rincon del San Jose (RSJT2) reported a measured gust of 49 knots at 12:30PM CDT. The proximity to the coastal waters from Baffin Bay to Port Mansfield out 20 nautical miles coupled with additional wind gusts over 34 knots reported at Buoy 42020 an hour later leads credence to the fact this area experienced Marine Thunderstorm Wind gusts as well.

A squall line raced through the Lower Texas Coastal Waters the afternoon of April 23rd. Several of the Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) sites along with Buoy42020 reported gusts over 34 knots as the line moved through.
