The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site at Rincon del San Jose (RSJT2) reported wind gusts above 34 knots associated with a squall line starting at 12:18PM CDT and lasting until 1:00PM CDT. The highest gust was measured at 49 knots at 12:30PM CDT. Additional gusts over 34 knots were observed until 4:18PM CDT as a wake low developed behind the squall line.

Wider weather episode

A squall line raced through the Lower Texas Coastal Waters the afternoon of April 23rd. Several of the Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) sites along with Buoy42020 reported gusts over 34 knots as the line moved through.
