A tree fell on a power line in Big Pine, and high winds plus dust storm conditions closed both Highway 395 and Highway 6 for about an hour each.

A strong low pressure system passing to the east brought strong winds to southeast California. Terrain influences enhanced high northerly winds in the Owens Valley and high westerly winds in the western Mojave Desert.
