Event narrative

The public shared video of one unmanned pontoon boat break loose in the Laguna Madre due to high marine winds during the wake low that developed following a line of thunderstorms in the early afternoon of April 23rd. There was also another picture of one unmanned fishing boat that broke loose and capsized near Pirates Landing near the Queen Isabella Causeway. Time estimated based on wind observations nearby. Damage estimates are estimated as well.

A squall line raced through the Lower Texas Coastal Waters the afternoon of April 23rd. Several of the Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) sites along with Buoy42020 reported gusts over 34 knots as the line moved through.
