Wider weather episode
A surface low and frontal boundary stalled over northeast Texas on the afternoon of February 7th. An upper level low coming out of the desert southwest tracking eastward began to drive the front in Texas eastward. At the same time, the surface low began to deepen and occlude while moving northeastward. Thunderstorms developed both ahead of the front in the warm sector and directly along the cold front as it passed through the local area. A few of those thunderstorms over the marine areas produced severe wind gusts.
