Strong and gusty westerly winds impacted the Santa Monica Mountains in Ventura county. Some peak wind reports from the local mesonet include: Deer Creek Canyon (gust 68 MPH) and Sandstone Peak ALERT (gust 62 MPH).
Wider weather episode
Strong and gusty west to northwest winds impacted sections of Southwestern California. Peak gusts, in excess of 80 MPH, were reported in some areas.
