A line of thunderstorms pushed off the coast and over the Laguna Madre and Coastal Waters the evening of April 28th. The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site at SPI Brazos Santiago (BZST2) recorded wind gusts over 34 knots from 1:42AM CDT through 1:48AM CDT with the highest wind gust observed of 42 knots at 1:42AM CDT.

A strong cold front barreled through Texas the afternoon of April 28th and spawned a line of showers and thunderstorms. This line of showers and thunderstorms stormed through the Lower Texas Coastal Waters with the highest reported wind gust at Realitos Peninsula with a recorded wind gust of 52 knots, or 60 mph. Most other sites recorded wind gusts between 40 to 50 knots.
