A quick moving shortwave lifted across the central plains and into Iowa on the morning of March 26th. Strong frontogenesis on the leading edge allowed for a banded snow scenario with strong lift within the dendritic growth zone. This brought a narrow band, generally 35 miles wide, of snow across central Iowa with five to nine inches of snow from Crawford to Black Hawk County.
