What EF1 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF1 is moderate damage: roofs badly stripped, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, windows broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 86–110 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Tornado damaged a wood supply store outbuilding. Frame was toe-nailed into the baseboards, so lowered the estimated wind speeds based upon this. Debris lofted into farm fields with a couple of other farm outbuildings damaged on this path.

The wider storm

A warm front was draped across southern Wisconsin on the evening of March 31st which had numerous thunderstorms develop along it. Most of the stronger storms that interacted with the warm front ended up producing some brief EF-0 to EF-1 tornadic damage. There were a few incidents that looked to be from straight line winds along the southeast side of the rotations, but most of the damage appeared to be lofted and from tornadoes.

Began near Rewey (42.8525, -90.4002).
