A trained spotter reported penny-sized hail in Harrisonburg.

Wider weather episode

A trough of low pressure triggered scattered showers and thunderstorms over north central Virginia during the afternoon of June 19th. Damaging winds brought down trees near Stanley in Page County. Penny-sized hail occurred near Harrisonburg and in Vienna. Lighting also caused damage to a condominium estate in Alexandria.
