Severe thunderstorms developed over far eastern and southeastern Oklahoma and moved through northwestern Arkansas during the afternoon of the 15th, as a cold front moved into the area. Moderately strong instability combined with strong deep-layer wind shear to support the development of some supercell thunderstorms. The strongest storms produced large hail up to tennis ball size and damaging wind gusts.
