Event narrative

An initial peak wind gust of 67 mph was recorded at the US-6 @ Eureka mesonet site at 6:50 pm 3/14, with subsequent gusts between 58 mph and 61 mph noted thereafter. Additionally, a wind gust of 58 mph was recorded at the Lake Mountain mesonet site at 4:40 am 3/15.

Wider weather episode

Another winter storm brought gusty winds and accumulating snow to much of Utah in the middle of March. Precipitation combined with snowmelt also resulted in flooding, mostly in southern Utah, including noted fatalities in a popular slot canyon.
