Social media posts showed a waterspout observed north of El Combate Beach. At the time, the storms associated with the waterspout were just offshore of Joyuda.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed in the afternoon of May 8th across southwestern Puerto Rico. As the evening progressed, the thunderstorms redeveloped over the western coastal waters of the islands, and a waterspout developed of one storm.
