A thunderstorm wind gust to 59 MPH was measured at the Alliance (KAIA) ASOS.

Wider weather episode

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms brought areas of hail and strong winds to portions of the western Nebraska Panhandle during the afternoon hours on 5/5. The strongest storms produced several inches of small hail accumulation near Bayard, as well as a wind gust to 59 MPH at the Alliance Airport.
