A trained weather spotter located 18 miles east of Harrisburg estimated wind gusts to 70 MPH.

The wider storm

A line of severe thunderstorms swept across the western Nebraska Panhandle during the late afternoon and early evening hours on 5/9, primarily producing damaging straight line winds. A separate round of isolated storms impacted the same areas during the late evening and overnight hours into 5/10, with numerous reports of hail and flash flooding in and around Scottsbluff and Gering.

Began near Harrisburg (41.6100, -103.4100).
