A trained spotter located 19 miles east of Harrisburg estimated wind gusts to 60 MPH.
Wider weather episode
A line of severe thunderstorms swept across the western Nebraska Panhandle during the late afternoon and early evening hours on 5/9, primarily producing damaging straight line winds. A separate round of isolated storms impacted the same areas during the late evening and overnight hours into 5/10, with numerous reports of hail and flash flooding in and around Scottsbluff and Gering.
