Twitter report of flash flooding near Guadalupita within the Hermit's Peak Calf Canyon burn scar. Drainage below Silva Canyon on the burn scar flowed out of the banks and flooded nearby driveways and properties near SR-434 south of Guadalupita. Damages are unknown.

Near-record to record level moisture over parts of the region allowed for scattered to numerous storms to develop over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on May 18, 2023. Combined with slow storm motions, locally heavy rainfall occurred over portions of the Hermit's Peak Calf Canyon burn scar. This led to flash flooding near Guadalupita, NM at the extreme northeastern edge of the burn scar. Drainages below Silva Canyon on the Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon burn scar flowed out of banks and flooded nearby driveways and properties near SR-434 south of Guadalupita, NM. There were no reports of damage or loss of life.
