The Kentucky mesonet station located 3 southwest of Maysville recorded a 71 mph gust at 16:40. The AWOS for the Flemingsburg airport KFGX measured a gust to 67 mph at 17:15.

Wider weather episode

A very strong low pressure system ejected northeast from the lower Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley on Friday, March 3. As the surface low deepened, it created record low pressure readings over many locations in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.
