Wider weather episode
Strong surface low pressure tracked across Michigan and into eastern Canada on the 25th, along a track that is climatologically favored for strong wind events in the Upper Ohio Valley. A crossing occluded boundary was a catalyst to start mixing strong wind to the surface, and a tight pressure gradient kept gusty wind going into the early evening. Several instances of strong wind gusts and wind damage were noted in northern West Virginia.
