National gridded snowfall analysis indicated 3 to 15 inches of snow. Interstate 5 was closed during 3/28.

The wider storm

A strong low pressure system moved southeast to just offshore from far northern California then continued southeast along the California coast. This brought heavy, low elevation snow to much of southern Oregon and northern California.
