National gridded snowfall analysis indicated 16 to 36 inches of snow. Interstate 5 was closed during 3/28 into 3/29.

Wider weather episode

A strong low pressure system moved southeast to just offshore from far northern California then continued southeast along the California coast. This brought heavy, low elevation snow to much of southern Oregon and northern California.
