As an upper level system remained situated to the west of the region, southwest flow ahead of it allowed for continued heavy snow across the Continental Divide where over four feet of snow fell. During this time frame, strengthening flow aloft supported another period of high winds with several reports of winds gusting up to 70 to 75 mph lee of the mountains.
