A strong trough lifted from the Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley on 3/25, providing strong forcing aloft to deepen a cyclone near 990mb as it trekked across the Great Lakes that day. This system brought a swath of heavy snow and gusty winds to northern Michigan. The highest totals came across the Gaylord area and Presque Isle county where reports of over 12 of snow were measured.
