A two-vehicle head-on crash occurred on the morning of March 14th east of Britton on South Dakota Highway 10 due to poor road conditions from winter weather. An 83-year-old man was killed, and a 19-year-old male sustained life-threatening injuries. South Dakota Highway 10 was closed to traffic for about 5 hours.

Incoming low pressure from the west and high pressure to the east resulted in gusty south-southeasterly winds across northeastern South Dakota on the morning of March 14th. Pre-existing loose snow blew and drifted across roadways, and icy roads led to a fatal vehicle accident in Marshall County.
