Event narrative

As the low approached the area, wind speeds picked up and snow developed along the north coast of the Seward Peninsula. Buckland saw blizzard conditions for about a four hours on the evening of the 1st, with winds topping out at 46 mph.

Wider weather episode

A 960 mb low moved north through the Bering Sea, bringing blizzard conditions to the northern portion of the Seward Peninsula.
