Event narrative
Blizzard conditions developed in Nome for several hours in the late morning hours of the 25th. In the early afternoon, conditions improved briefly; however, blizzard conditions returned in late afternoon and continued through the evening hours. Nome had gusts as high as 41 mph during the event while Golovin had gusts as high as 53 mph.

A front associated with a low moving north through the Bering Sea brought blizzard conditions to portions of western Alaska.
