Event narrative

Observations show that moderate snow started to fall late March 2nd around 7-9pm into the mid-morning hours (6am-8am) of March 3rd, that 10-12 inches of snow fell in the North Cascades over a 12 hour period. A winter storm warning was in place.

Wider weather episode

A frontal system moved through Western Washington bringing significant snow to the Cascade Range Mountains, where a Winter Storm Warning was issued for each mountain zone.
