WxFlow mesonet station XKBS Biscayne Bay Light 20 reported a wind gust of 51 mph/44 knots as a thunderstorm moved through the area.

As a shortwave moved across the Florida Peninsula, abundant low-level moisture and diurnal heating led to plenty of instability in the atmosphere on April 17th. Numerous showers and thunderstorms formed in the evening over the interior which moved offshore into the Atlantic overnight.
