The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) sites at Realitos Peninsula (RLIT2) and South Padre Island Coast Guard Station (PCGT2) recorded wind gusts over 34 knots between 7:12AM CDT and 7:36AM CDT. NOAA's National Ocean Service (NOS) station at Port Isabel (PTIT2) also recorded wind gusts over 34 knots for the same duration. The highest wind gust of 46 knots was recorded at PCGT2 at 7:36AM CDT.

Wider weather episode

A squall line exited the Rio Grande Valley and impacted the southern Laguna Madre and nearshore Gulf waters early in the morning of June 8th with wind gusts between 40 to 45 knots.
