Observers and spotters reported 0.30 inches of ice on trees, elevated surfaces and untreated roads and sidewalks in the Iron Mountain area early morning on the 5th.

A warm front lifting north from the Central Plains and Lower Great Lakes brought showers and thunderstorms across the area which turned to widespread freezing rain late from the 4th into the early morning of the 5th across west and central Upper Michigan.
