Event narrative

Wider weather episode
A low pressure system moved east-southeast starting over the eastern Bering, then crossed the Alaska Peninsula and passed just south of Kodiak Island between November 26th and 27th. This system and its front were able to interact favorably with much colder air in place near and north of the low as it tracked east, with deep frontal lift and seasonably high moisture contributing to efficient precipitation production and a short but intense duration of snow shifting from Bristol Bay to Kodiak Island.
