The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site at Rincon del San Jose recorded a maximum wind gust of 59 knots at 1:48PM CDT during a thunderstorm on June 5th. Winds gusted over 34 knots between 1:48PM CDT until 1:54PM CDT.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level low swirling over eastern Texas allowed for the formation of supercell thunderstorms along the coast both June 4th and June 5th. Rincon del San Jose was hit both days with gusts over 40 knots June 4th and near 60 knots on June 5th.
