Three snotels estimated storm total snow that exceeds winter storm warning criteria. The sites are Boulder Mountain (11 inches storm total), Sacajawea (8 inches), and Brackett Creek (9 inches).

Wider weather episode

The region was in the ascent side of an approaching trough, which in combination with a developing surface low, resulted in widespread snow and heavy snow across much of the region.
