A peak wind gust of 59 MPH was measured by an automated weather station 7 miles south-southwest of Olathe.

Moisture increased across western Colorado as the next shortwave trough impacted the area. This, paired with daytime heating, led to scattered showers and thunderstorms. The stronger storms produced gusty winds in excess of 58 mph across some of the central and southern valleys.
