Event narrative

The mesonet station FW1757 Mosier reported temperatures at to below freezing between 0420 to 0640 PDT on April 20th. Several other stations on the Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge also reported at to below freezing temperatures for over an hour during the morning of April 20th.

Wider weather episode

A persistent cold airmass near the surface and clear skies in the morning resulted in freezing morning lows in the Eastern Columbia River Gorge, areas of the Blue Mountain Foothills, and the Yakima/Kittitas valleys the morning of April 20th.
