The ASOS KDLS at the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport reported temperatures at to below freezing between 0600 to 0705 PDT on April 20th. Other mesonet stations across the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge also reported below freezing temperatures for over an hour.

Wider weather episode

A persistent cold airmass near the surface and clear skies in the morning resulted in freezing morning lows in the Eastern Columbia River Gorge, areas of the Blue Mountain Foothills, and the Yakima/Kittitas valleys the morning of April 20th.
