Wider weather episode
An impulse of moisture traversing mid-level flow introduced chances for isolated shower and thunderstorms for areas south of I-20. The morning sounding showed substantial capping at 600 mb, however lapse rates were quite steep between 400 and 600 mb. As much of 1500 -2000 J/Kg of CAPE was possible by the afternoon. Due to these conditions, a few storms were able to develop gusty winds and some hail.
