Wider weather episode
A upper level disturbance moved northeast from California to the northern and central Rockies during the morning hours of June 23rd. Stronger upper-level flow resulted in much drier and windier conditions across western and central New Mexico. Lingering mid-level moisture across the highlands and eastern plains of New Mexico resulted in some high based virga showers and dry thunderstorms. A few of these produced high wind gusts at a few sites. Meanwhile, along the dryline near the Texas border, isolated severe storms produced large hail and damaging wind gusts.
