A thunderstorm wind gust of 35 knots/40 mph was recorded at the WxFlow mesonet station XKBS at Biscayne Bay Light 20.

Shortwave troughs crossing the region, and cooler temperatures aloft, led to the ideal environment for an active afternoon and evening on April 26th with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Ample diurnal heating increased instability across the region which lead to numerous strong thunderstorms with the primary hazards of gusty winds and hail.
