The mesonet station OD219 2.5 miles southeast of Drewsey measured a wind gust near 65 mph.

A strong upper level low pressure system along with a weak shortwave trough moved into Eastern Oregon during the early afternoon. This system brought strong and long lasting rotating thunderstorms that caused severe wind damage.
