Wider weather episode
An upper level trough tracked across the Northern Rockies, dragging its base across the Western Slope. This resulted in increased instability which fueled scattered showers and thunderstorms. Convection was high-based given the abundance of dry air at the lower levels. Strong outflow from collapsing storms produced gusty winds which resulted in some damage across portions of Moffat County.
