Event narrative

Strong thunderstorm winds knocked down a tree and wires down onto a vehicle along East Lake Rd. There was at least one person trapped in the vehicle. It was unknown if there were any injuries.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system brought showers and thunderstorms to Central New York. Daytime heating helped provide instability for strong to severe thunderstorms. Multiple severe storms developed across the region. Strong wind gusts and large hail caused some minor damage.
