Event narrative

A trained weather spotter located 22 miles NNE of Harrison reported estimated wind gusts of greater than 60 MPH. A South Dakota State University sensor near Ardmore, SD, just north of the NE/SD state line also recorded a wind gust to 63 MPH.

Wider weather episode

A cluster of strong to locally severe thunderstorms tracked across Sioux and Dawes Counties in the northern Nebraska Panhandle in the pre-dawn hours on 6/26, producing multiple instances of hail up to the size of quarters and wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH.
