Thunderstorms formed along a slow moving frontal boundary during the late evening hours of May 6th. As the front tracked into the eastern Sandhills, storms developed along a line from Dunning to Ewing. As they tracked southeast, they intensified and became severe. Hail up to quarter size was reported with the strongest storms.
